BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Business (RQF)
The Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Business is an Applied General qualification. It is for post-16 learners who want to continue their education through applied learning and who aim to progress to higher education and ultimately to employment in the business sector. The qualification is equivalent in size to two A Levels.If you are 19-23 years old and have not studied a Level 3 qualification previously, you can access this course for FREE (subject to funding eligibility).
What does this qualification cover?
The content of this qualification has been developed in consultation with academics to ensure that it supports progression to higher education. In addition, employers and professional bodies have been involved and consulted in order to confirm that the content is appropriate and consistent with current practice for learners planning to enter employment directly in the business sector.
There are 6 mandatory units. Learners must complete and achieve at pass grade or above all the 3 mandatory external units. Learners must complete all 3 mandatory internal units and achieve a pass or above in at least 2 units. Alongside this, there are also 2 optional units the students would need to achieve in order to complete the full qualification.

What could this qualification lead to?
The qualification is recognised and accepted by higher education institutions to many relevant courses in a variety of areas in the business sector, as single or joint programmes at degree, foundation degree or HND level. When studied with other qualifications as part of a programme of study, learners can progress to higher education on combined courses. Learners should always check the entry requirements for degree programmes with the specific higher education providers.
All BTEC Nationals provide transferable knowledge and skills that prepare learners for progression to higher education. The transferable skills that higher education providers value include:

BTEC Nationals provide a vocational context in which learners can develop knowledge and skills including:

The qualification carries UCAS points and is recognised by higher education providers as contributing to meeting admission requirements to many relevant courses. Students will have the opportunity to progress onto one of the following higher education programmes with us:

You will be required to have relevant sector qualifications upto Level 2 or prior work experience. If you do not have either you will be assessed through our internal assessment process. Prior attained English and Maths qualifications will be desirable.
