Liz Orbetelli chats about the Passion Project at the Apprencticeships 4 England conference. She explains what the Passion Project is, how the Passion Project engage hard to reach NEET’s through their areas of interest or passions and how providers and colleges can work in partnership with the Passion Project to help young people.
Liz gives a typical example of how the Passion Project helped one particular young person who was a NEET and involved in Gang crime to turn their life around by engaging the learner through their passion for art. This learner is now working on an art in the community social action project for Higgins Construction in Hackney.
She then explains how Providers and Colleges can then work with the Passion Project to focus on the learner and what are their passions to help engage these young people back into society and focus on areas of interest for the learner.
