Sue Husband chats about the future of Apprenticeships, the Levy & SME’s
We chat with Sue Husband, Director of the National Apprenticeship Service at the Apprenticeships 4 England conference about the future of Apprenticeships. Sue chats about the future of Apprenticeships, the Levy and how the levy will help Apprenticeships become stainable with £3 Billion to be raised by the Levy by 2020 and how the Levy will also raise the quality of Apprenticeships.
Sue then chats about Apprenticeships for SME’s. Sue explains that she wants to give people confidence that her team understands how important SME’s are to the future of Apprenticeships, so they will ensure there is a future funding stream for Apprenticeships for SME’s. She explains that whether this is through the route of working with a large business utilising their levy through their supply chain, or whether it is Government funding under a similar route to what we have at the moment. Sue explains that what is really important is that Apprenticeships are sustainable and whatever the system is in the future that this is truly employer led.
We then chat about Apprenticeships routes for learners, particularly with progression into Higher level or degree level Apprenticeships to help grow the Apprenticeship brand to learners, employers and parents.
